Some years ago

The Aftermath

It was unbelievably still, the darkness was all Ren could see. Suddenly gasping for air as he returned to consciousness and an agonized cry came from his lips as the burning pain struck his nerves. Behind him the ornate stone building that once stood was gone as the flames from its remains shot up into the sky.

The freezing snow underneath Ren hardly eased the pain as he crawled away from the inferno erupting behind him. The sounds of voices from bystanders and authorities were faint buzzes as he kept crawling. He clenched his teeth, forcing himself to keep quiet as the people came to the scene, he couldn’t be spotted by any of them so he made his way towards some buildings hoping that nobody noticed him or the trail he left as he dragged himself. Ren could only make it so far as his body gave out and darkness overtook him once again.

As he came to, Ren looked around, the smell of cinnamon filled his nose and he was wrapped up in bandages. His injuries were still warm but didn’t hurt as bad as before when he had been caught in the blaze. Before him was a dwarf with long grey braided hair and a braided beard. He had warm eyes and piercings on his eyebrows. He was smoking a pipe and checking on whatever the source of that cinnamon smell was.

He turned around and chuckled deeply “well looks like you are a tough one after all, kid” he said, a gravely tone in his voice.

Blinking the sleep from his eyes Ren looked up at the dwarf and winced as he spoke, his throat hoarse from smoke “wha- where am I?”

“You’re safe in my home, you were caught in that explosion last night” the dwarf explained “I found you passed out in the snow and so I brought you here, got you warm, and then tended to those burns you got. I’m Orik, you’re in Nix”

“Nix?” Ren asked a bit dazed still.

“The town we are in. Take it easy kid you’re in no shape to do much right now” Orik warned.

Ren nodded weakly, his injuries still felt like he was burning alive, as he coughed from the smoke he had inhaled. Orik stepped away and came back, pouring honey into a red cinnamon-y smelling liquid. He then gave it to Ren who took the mug and stared into the red liquid. It was hard to see his reflection but what he could see there were eyes of matching color to the tea, his eyes looked tired from years of fighting though there was a glimmer of hope. He had done it, Ren was finally free from his captivity.

Orik moved behind Ren and removed his bandages. Orik grabbed a wooden box and opened it scooping something Ren couldn’t see. Orik then rubbed an ointment onto his back. Ren winced and flinched as the ointment was cold to the touch but it did soothe his pain. Ren began drinking the red liquid, it was sweet and had hints of that cinnamon smell.

Soon Ren finished the tea he was given and laid back down as he had never gotten out of the bed Orik had placed him in. It took no time at all before he was taken by sleep once again.

Edwin has a random inharent trust in the raven that follows him and he has no idea why.

My guy finally met the Raven that is spying on him. He dose not know it, but it is his friend who he thinks is dead. Well not the bird itself. The bird is just a spell cast by Ren. Either way, right now he is unaware the bird is a spy. So he thinks it is just a neat big bird who follows him around.

I was supposed to post this one last post, but I forgot and posted fish instead. So I am making up for it this week. Here have him comforting Ren.

This hasn't happened but like I can dream that it will- man I really hope they get to have a calm time. Man so much can go wrong first though.

I realised I haven't posted Ren yet. So here is my frantic post of him to quickly intrupt the upcoming Asta posts. This is a man heavily intertwined with my characters plot, it's his best bud.

This image is so silly cause it's just the mercy pose. Then absolutely demolished my vocabulary. It's one of the best images of Ren in my opinion though. Man- my guy misses him so much. As far as my guy knows, Ren is dead.

My guys second or third meeting with his best friend Ren. There is alot of text in this image I had to remove due to spoilers. My guy used to be a biting hazard. They were not really fond of eachother for the first few months. Took even longer for Ren to come around and to not see my guy as annoying.

I redrew a drawing I didn't like (and never posted I don't think). It is of my guy meeting his best friend/crush, Ren, after roughly 7 years of Ren having faked his death. As the image says, Ren has a copy of the coat my guy wore as a child. Over the years of being away from my guy, he started to feel really guilty and missed my guy. So he got a copy of it for comfort.

Now, fun fact! This is actually happing today! The exact day I post this is the day we are theoretically meeting him in game. My guy who will be going by either his usual name or Alder now, will be learning his dead best friend is alive. I plan for him to actually do this image here.
