So since I posted about taking bicalutamide, I’ve had a few girls reach out wanting to know more.
Please feel free to dm me if you want and I’m more than happy to chat but I also figured I’d take some public notes as things go along so that the info is out there for anyone else.
For those that don’t know, Bicalutamide (Bic) is an alternative to Spiro. Where Spiro (a steroidal anti-androgen) stops your body from producing testosterone, Bic (a non-sterodial ant-androgen) blocks the receptors that testosterone binds too, meaning it’s still in your body, just can’t effect you.
Bic is shown (in studies for treating prostate cancer) to have less impact on sex drive and function than Spiro. Which was my main interest in it.
So for now that’s the facts. Now let’s talk feels.
I’m approaching the end of week 1 and I wanted to document it while it’s fresh.
Bic makes me a SLEEEEPPPYYY bitch. I’ve started taking it just before bed because within 30 minutes I feel super tired. Luckily I only take it once a day so that’s not bad.
I def noticed that immediately I stopped waking up with erections but so far, my drive is the same (super high) and I have no troubles becoming erect when I want to. I haven’t gotten a spontaneous erection since I started taking it and they were pretty common before hand.
Last note, I assume this is the Bic but am not sure yet. About 30min - 1hr about my dose, I ummm... well let’s say if you’re constipated, Bic is the way to go.
In all I feel a bit foggy this week but hi-caf tea helps and I’m expecting all of this to pass as I adjust to the meds.
Anyway, I hope this helps someone out there and if you have questions or I forget to follow this up, let me know.
