STUDENT HIGHLIGHT Hurst Bogardus Hurst is an excellent student who always works hard.  He has amazing focus and an imaginative mind that helps him come up with creative questions about the material that always seem just right.   Recently, Hurst performed an excellent test and passed into the level of Blue Sash in Tai Chi.  Now we get to work even harder on material that is more difficult. Russell joined us last year at our World Tai Chi Day celebration. Since then he has worked diligently and trained hard to learn our unique style of Tai Chi.   He has a great mindset and a wonderful capacity for learning. Mix that with some previous martial arts experience, and you get a student who is a delight to work with. He is polite and friendly to all the other students and has even been caught helping a few of them out when they needed it. He seems to particularly like the self-defense aspects of most of the moves. Shaolin-Do is meant to be a community of friends, and Russell is a great example of that, right here in our little school.  We should all aspire to be as open minded and receptive as Russell is when we are learning new material.
