Osteoblasts are mesenchymal cells of bone that secrete osteoid (non-calcified ground substance of bone) which helps form bone tissues. Osteoblasts eventually become trapped in secreted osteoid and as the osteoid calcifies, Osteoblasts change into Osteoclasts. Osteoclasts are mature Osteoblast cells and are multinucleated. Osteoclast remodel bone tissue according to the stresses applied to the tissues (check out Wolf’s Law!). Osteoclasts eventually transition into Osteocytes, which are the cells of bone. Osteocytes are found within Lacuna inside of Osteons. . Follow @studysongz to learn some anatomy .
