It wasn’t the first time he had been mistaken for a woman from behind, but it was the first time someone had tried to flirt with him. Long hair was assumed as a feminine feature, drawing unwanted attention and awkward explanations that usually came with an apology that was uncomfortable for everyone. Inhaling deeply, Waver braved the conversation that was coming and looked over his shoulder to the man behind him. “My apologies, but you are mistaken. I am not...” Gaze narrowed, lips pursed as he recalled exactly what had been said, causing him his frown to shift into a scowl. “...a foxy lady. Was that intended to be a pick-up line? Have you used that on women before? I feel sorry for them having to hear such a half hearted cheap line.”
Had the situation only been a mere misunderstanding, Waver would have let the conversation completely die out right then and there as they parted ways, but imagining someone bothering women with obnoxious lines, he wasn’t bound to let it go without a lecture. “With the confidence to approach a stranger, you could say something better than that. Have you no concept of conversation? If you’re wanting to disturb women with your annoying catcalling, you may want to reconsider that thought. Their time has value; don’t waste it by ruining their day with your stupidity.”
