Riff’s hair is loc’d for sure, and I’m saying he’s had his hair loc’d for years. Magenta gives him retwists and tries to keep his hair taken care of the best she can. Riff’s the least likely of the castle to wear bonnets/wraps/durags - it’s really not for a lack of caring, he’s actually very very attached to his hair, he just doesn’t get around to upkeep often. Riff Raff doesn’t like anyone but Magenta touching his hair, although, inevitably, Frank and Columbia often end up playing with it and trying to convince him to switch it up (he won’t). His hair is bleached, with brassy undertones.
Rocky has been subjected to basically every style under the sun that doesn’t require long-term commitment (ex. locing). Of course, his hair is bleached blonde, and it borders on white. I choose to believe he was born with a silk press (taking off those head bandages but instead taking off the wrap of a silk press iykyk) and he’s since had rows, braids, and faux locs (I like the idea of a bleach blonde Rocky with goddess locs, I’m a simple girl). He likes his natural hair the best because he’s very tender headed and the tightness and itching that can come from protective styling are VERY bothersome for him. That being said.., I know Magenta crafts the smoothest silk press you’ve ever seen. the shit is falling off the BONE. Rocky likes how long and shiny it is, mostly. Frank insists on doing Rocky’s “nightly” hair routine for him. but she’s clearly got an agenda
Frank would have Rick James esque Jheri curls, I think. He uses about half as many products as Columbia, which is still an excessive amount lol. Notice how Frank changes outfit basically every scene in the movie? She’s got every color and pattern of bonnet and durag babe (he doesn’t wear a majority of them). She’s also known to pick her hair into a fro on occasion, but it’s very infrequent compared to the Rick James fantasy do you see my vision RKO basically astralprojected this to me btw. He likes to do Columbia’s and Rocky’s hair, but she’s incredibly picky when she’s the recipient. (Ie. Magenta is the only one in the castle he consistently trusts with her hair). ….Frank doesn’t know about wigs yet, but it’s only a matter of time.
