Hey #CHAIBeautyLLC friends and family! In keeping with our post from yesterday, we’re here to answer another question from one of natural beauties! Question: how often do I need to wet my hair to keep it moisturized? If I wash my hair every Sunday and keep it in a protective style, should I remove my twists, rewet my hair midweek and retwist? Answer: the best answer we can give you is to tell you to listen to your hair. If by mid-week your hair is starting to feel dry and thirsty, then by all means re-moisturize. Now, having a background in Epidemiology, we believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So the key here is to prevent the dryness from occurring. If your hair is in a protective style (I.e. twists/braids, etc.) there are daily moisturizing sprays that you can use each day just to spritz your tresses to maintain moisture. You can even make your own by adding your fave leave-in conditioner in a spray bottle with water and your favorite oil and spritz your hair every couple days or so. However, if your hair is dry and coarse then your best bet would be to re-wet it and apply a moisturizing cream/oil to lock everything in as soon as your able to do so. I hope this helps! We applaud you all for doing your best to maintain your beautiful tresses and health during this difficult time.
