-------------------------------------------------------
I looked up at the sky and spoke. “We’re not weaklings anymore. Please open the sky, Hyeon-Seong-ssi.”
Yi Hyeon-Seong nodded his head.
[Incarnation ‘Jeong Hui-Won’ is requesting the activation of ‘Hour of Judgement!]
Jeong Hui-Won unsheathed her sword first. The [Judge’s Sword] was enveloped in the auras of God Slaying.
[Incarnation, ‘Yi Hyeon-Seong’, has agreed with the judgement.]
Yi Hyeon-Seong’s forged steel was placed on top of the companions’ equipment. This was the world’s toughest ‘oath’ to protect his precious comrades.
[Incarnation, ‘Yi Ji-Hye’, has agreed with the judgement.]
The silver-coloured Fable metal settled down on Yi Ji-Hye’s [Turtle Dragon].
[Incarnation, ‘Shin Yu-Seung’, has agreed with the judgement.]
[Incarnation, ‘Yi Gil-Yeong’, has agreed with the judgement.]
The Chimera Dragon too was dyed in the silvery hue; the monster roared out and carried the two kids into flight.
[Incarnation, ‘Yu Sang-Ah’, has agreed with the judgement.]
Lotus pedestals also reinforced by silver-coloured steel began rotating all around Yu Sang-Ah.
[Incarnation, ‘Han Su-Yeong’, has agreed with the judgement.]
Han Su-Yeong had unwrapped the bandages off her arm before anyone noticed it, and tied her hair with the very same bandages.
[Incarnation, ‘Yu Jung-Hyeok’, has agreed with the judgement.]
Yu Jung-Hyeok’s [Dark Heavenly Demon Sword] carrying the Status of a Transcender began emitting cold sword light next. And….
[Constellation, ‘Demon King of Salvation’, has agreed with the judgement.]
And I unsheathed the [Unbreakable Faith].
[‘Hour of Judgement’ will now activate!]

Spoilers for Noblesse Chapter 465 Below!
Finally! Maduke has revealed to Muzaka, and everyone else within earshot, that he and the other werewolf warriors who were unsatisfied by Muzaka’s way of ruling were the ones who caused Ashlyn’s death. He claimed that they teamed up with humans to cause countless wars in order to not arouse Muzaka’s suspicions when Ashlyn was eventually killed during one of the said wars.
I know this is a cliche villain move, but I personally don’t mind. There’s a reason why villains do this. In Maduke’s case, he envied Muzaka’s power, and hated that Muzaka, at one point, turned down the prestigious and coveted position of Lord (they reveal this in this chapter as well). Basically, Maduke suffers from a centuries-long inferiority complex towards Muzaka.
Now imagine you’re Maduke. You’ve watched this guy for centuries and centuries, this seemingly carefree guy, who spends the majority of his time among humans and not his own people, and who also happens to be incredibly powerful and toted as the most powerful werewolf Lord (and therefore, theoretically, the most powerful werewolf, period) in the history of werewolves. You hate him for all this, because he’s everything you’re not, and conspire to be rid of him. You think you succeed, that he’s dead, and for centuries afterwards you gain power, power that you know (or believe) would have surpassed Muzaka.
And then, against all odds, Muzaka turns out to be alive! You’re shocked at first, and want him dead, because him being alive inevitably causes you to feel that insecurity, that he will always be better/stronger than you. But that fails, and he confronts you directly. You see an opportunity, an opportunity that you never dreamed about, but now you’re looking forward to it, you can’t wait. You can prove, in front of witnesses, that you’re stronger than him! Finally, you can show this man that you’re more powerful than him, that you have gained more strength than ever before, and not only that, but that you’re also cleverer than him, that you orchestrated this whole thing!
Don’t you think you’d feel pretty damn good about yourself, and your power, if you were Maduke? Enough that revealing a traitorous past, even in front of your followers, means nothing to you? After all, what can any of them do in the face of your overwhelming power?!
In Maduke’s eyes, Muzaka’s already beaten. He’s barely even worth noticing at this point. Maduke has already proven (to himself) that he’s stronger than Muzaka. But he can’t resist bringing Muzaka down even more, because he believes that the lower Muzaka is, the more he can prove that he’s Muzaka’s superior, the more he can prove to himself that he is the better warrior/Lord, and the less likely that that crushing insecurity he felt when he was younger, living in Muzaka’s shadow, will affect him.
I am not in any way defending Maduke, I hope he dies the cruelest of deaths, I’m just saying... I know it’s cliche for the villain to do this, but we only think that because, well, we’ve all seen James Bond movies and seen other battle-centric manga/anime. Maduke, I’m willing to bet, has not, and so to him this is in no way a death flag for him.
Which we all know that it totally is.
Oh and also, I saw a fan translation for this chapter, and at one point Maduke says, “You’re daughter’s mother is also something we created/worked on to encourage humans.”
Anyone know what this means? This is a fan translation as I said so maybe it’s wrong, but if it’s not, it just brings up so many questions. Does that mean they killed her too? Does it mean they literally created her, like she was an experiment? I even saw an interpretation where someone thought it meant that the woman purposely seduced Muzaka under orders from the evil humans/werewolves, presumably to give Muzaka some sort of weakness (weak human(s) to protect!). And regardless, to ‘encourage humans’ to do what?
If anyone wants to throw their two cents in, or if anyone has found a different translation, let me know!
