The Nova was the top model in the Chevy II range until 1968, from 1969 the Chevy II name was dropped with Nova becoming the nameplate for all models through to 1979 The first generation Chevy II - Nova debuted in 1962, replacing the rear engined Corvair. The car was of semi-unibody construction having a bolt on front section joined to its unitized cabin and rear end available in two- and four-door sedan configurations as well as convertible and 4-door station wagon versions.
