Collage of Concepts
This is an interesting overview of my journey through this project. I started with some basic notions of what I wanted to achieve, and through research and experimenting I have formed a well thought out idea that has meaning to the site and socially sustainable principles.
The current concept is twofold – on the ground and from above. On the ground I want to emphasis the pull of nature; both of the beach having been reclaimed and also the nature of spontaneous play. Above is a cinematic idea of watching a live performance of movement below. These two parts are significant to the site.
The placement of interactive structures will encourage unstructured and fun movement and playfulness as well as interaction between people. For families to visit the site is to find a sense of personal belonging in the city by the new casual relationships with strangers and the ability to relax and enjoy their children being children in what was a mainstream adult area.
