2. What scene did you first put down?

I know this is boring, but the first scene I wrote was the first scene! Like 95% of my writing is just flying by the seat of my pants, so I just start at the beginning and see where the fic goes.

My initial plan for the fic was basically "Kent realizes he has a boyfriend/deals with his feelings about Jack/has an awkward double date with zimbits". It was supposed to be 3 chapters long, but as I wrote I was like "oh hey, I guess it's taking this turn??" and it turned into a much larger story.

11. What do you like best about this fic?

Hm.. good question! I think I liked exploring Corey (and Kent) coming to terms with his injury and the fact that his career was over. I wanted to write a bit about the experience I've had as someone who has dealt with a recurring injury, thought I was in the clear, then was reinjured unexpectedly. There's a lot of emotional baggage that goes along with it, that would only be made 10x worse if it stopped me from doing the only thing I loved and felt as was good at, like a professional hockey player with a career-ending surgery. (Side note, I've had two reinjuries and a surgery since writing this fic and it still really fucking sucks lol)

Aside from that drama, I also just like writing the banter in cornt fics in general, like this interaction where they meet Marco at the physio office:
