An AU where Yua was actually not Yuuhi's sister. (Kind of hinted Crossroadship)
Yuuga: "Your sister …? She's not though? She was my Yuuho from the beginning … my Yuamu. There's no way I lose her again."
"Yuuho": "The secret of Yuuga's journey … it seems like you are a part of it, right? You don't mind to tell me about it, right …, Yuuhi-kun?"
Yuuhi: "How dare you threaten your predecessor …?! By the way, Yuamu is my sister, okay?!?!"
One day, Yuamu went missing again. Yuuhi spent some years for the search of his sister, but he accidentally got thrown into the future Goha City. There, he met Yuuga, who had become a high schooler… and a girl who looked so much like Yuamu, who was called "Yuuho". As Yuuhi spent his time there, he learnt that Yuuga did not tell the details of his journey in the past to his friends. By the time he realized this, he was trapped between his descendants who care about each other obsessively.
I was wondering if I should post this since it is kind of incestuous, but duh. Just skip the details if you are against the ship.
At first, I made Yuamu get thrown into Yuuhi's period when she was a child and lost her memories. But as the latest episode showed the flashback of the twins' past, I changed the plot a little. When Yuamu got thrown into the past, her body also went back in time, and she became a baby. And that was why most of the people think she was Yuuhi's twin.
At the same time, Yuuga, who lost his closest friend, forgot most of the things about Yuamu. It was like his mental mechanism to prevent himself from mentally breaking into depression. That was why he did not recognize Yuamu when they met in the past.
Yuuga and Yuamu were introverted kids. That was why they cared about each other deeply, as they did not really have other friends. They were cousins, but it was not like their parents were siblings. They are more like far cousins.
As a teenager, when Yuuga got his memories and Yuamu back, he was kind of traumatized about his loss of Yuamu, so he was overprotective of her. On the other side, Yuamu, who did not remember her time in Mutsuba Town, was worried about Yuuga, who somehow had a change in his attitude and tried to find out about his journey to the past.
That was mainly the plot. There are some other details, like … how Yuamu got thrown in the past and other things that make the story more complicated and sound more like a fantasy genre one. But I will omit that part for now. Maybe I will talk more sometimes in the future.
Btw, Yuuho is how Yuuga called Yuamu. He misread her name when they were children, but after Yuamu came back, Yuuga called her like that and made others call her like that on purpose to not trigger her past memories of Mutsuba Town.
The reason why I kept ship this inc. ship called Crossroadship.
The way Yua got her way out of her comfort zone and stood up for Yuuga with confidence—not by stabbing people from behind—just because she could not let him be alone.
The way Yua blamed herself for betraying her friends, but never said she regretted being a villainess for Yuuga.
The way of Yua just cares for Yuuga without expecting anything from him.
The way Yuuga did not really know what Yua did for him—he was mostly unconscious when Yua replaced him for the duel and was sent back to his period right after the duel was ended.
Personal opinion: I like how, even though Yua made herself the antagonist for saving Yuuga, it did not make her look ugly, as she did not make excuses for what she did and recognised she was doing bad things to protect Yuuga. She was confident in protecting him, but did not feel proud of the road she took.
