as a former crypto part of me understands the desire to stay hidden and silent, seeing all the violent and sexual threats and actual violence at protests and work ramifications for speaking up and just general vitriol towards terfs. but another part of me is like... eventually yr going to have to woman the fuck up and realize that secretly reading radfem theory and posts on tumblr is useless if yr never going to talk about it, never engage with it in an observable way in yr own life, never engage in activism or women’s groups or whatever. it’s just a fucking thought exercise to you at that point.

also... if you get offline and share yr views in a civilized manner with normies, you’ll be surprised at how often people don’t give a fuck either way or even agree with you lol. im not saying become a radical feminist street preacher but jesus christ stop being meek and docile and nice because yr scared of losing social points! if someone says something homophobic or spreads misinformation about radical feminism or is misogynist, open yr fucking mouth! every other post i see on radblr is a masterpost of pdfs and articles and scientific studies there to reference. y’all are smart women with logic and science on yr side. now it is time to start being brave.

if any other trans ppl follow/are mutuals with this person u might wanna reconsider bcus transphobia & rb’ing content from terfs isnt a big deal to them it seems.. pretty disappointed bcus i liked this person’s blog otherwise but i definitely dont feel safe when someone doesnt take transphobia seriously at all, especially with how trans ppl are being treated across the world these days by their governments & societies

You’re not a feminist if you hide your beliefs. If you think women’s liberation is important and are fed up with all the bullshit but you say nothing and do nothing, you’re not a feminist. You can say you agree with feminists, but feminism is a movement and a movement requires actions. Also, let’s remember -- the personal is political.

I feel such relief having made this blog. Finally having a space where I can speak about REALITY instead of staying silent while people deny biological facts and turn a blind eye to the abuse women and girls suffer around the world for their sex. I don’t want to pretend that someone who looks like a man, acts like a man, and treats me like a man treats me, is more of a woman than I am.

I have tried so hard to understand the popular and mainstream view of trans people. But where radfem blogs that I look at give me statistics, facts, evidence, all the genderists do is parrot stock phrases that mean nothing. “Trans women are women!!!1!” Ok but what is a woman then? “A woman is someone who identifies as a woman” why do they identify that way? “Because they feel like a woman” what does being a woman feel like??

I wanted to fit in so badly. I wanted to finally see the light all of my friends must have seen. But the more I looked the less logic I found.

With radfems I feel safe. With radfems I feel that my body is good, is enough. I honestly feel so much happier when I read radfems blogs because I feel like I’m finally around people talking sense. So I guess this is my introduction. Hey, I’m Lily and I’m a radfem.

This post, though? Not an example of my weirdness. It is an example of me having to go so incredibly far out of my way to protect myself when I talk about feminism and sex-based oppression and homophobia, and it's an example of me trying to help the women in my circle protect themselves as well.
