D.A.N - Think About Me
Following up on preceding single ‘0300 (Human)’, a tale of insomnia and emotional turmoil, this next release from the Northern Irish talent D.A.N is like tearing back the curtains to welcome the morning light and opening yourself up to whatever the day may bring. At the core of ‘Think About Me’, there’s still heartbreak, but unlike the defeated tones of ‘0300’, this single is a reclamation of one’s own independence, as D.A.N himself tells us:
“I wrote Think About Me in the aftermath of a relationship breaking down. It felt I had been holding back from talking about my true feelings for a period of time, and when it came to writing I was ready and said everything I needed to say, but I wanted to turn a difficult experience and the state of vulnerability into something beautiful and a work that made myself feel strong independently. Hopefully it can do the same for someone else.”
D.A.N is a London-based North Irish talent whose new song Think About Me is about reclaiming one’s own independence. And trust me, we’re thinking about him tons after relishing in the track’s tribal drums, satin vocals, and atmospheric lifting, synth fluid pop. D.A.N says: “I wrote Think About Me in the aftermath of a relationship breaking down. It felt I had been holding back from talking about my true feelings for a period of time, and when it came to writing I was ready and said everything I needed to say, but I wanted to turn a difficult experience and the state of vulnerability into something beautiful and a work that made myself feel strong independently. Hopefully it can do the same for someone else.” The intriguing newcomer self produced Think About Me alongside Dave Okumu (Jessie Ware, Paloma Faith, Rosie Lowe). The song follows on preceding single, 0300 Human, a somber tale of insomnia and emotional turmoil much feathery affecting and achingly introspective. Watch the video for 0300 Human below. Currently, D.A.N is working on new material with Aaron Williams (Raye, Jacob Banks) and planning more live dates.
