It’s been two months since David first quietly suggested that maybe they could try physically kissing…to see how it went. And Kurt understood, David struggles with touch more often than he doesn’t. “I thought you said it sounded depressing?” Kurt says gently. Not a refusal, but a check-in.

David shrugs. “Maybe I’ll learn a valuable lesson from your morality play.”

“My copy is auf Deutsch.” Kurt says, leaning down to make eye contact, thrilling silently when David doesn’t avoid it. He wants to judge his reaction.

David blinks back up at him with a smile that could almost be described as sweet if Kurt didn’t know that the younger man was making fun of him. “Then I won’t learn a valuable lesson. I still want you to read to me.”
