@danenite gets a totally legit starter.
he can feel her disappearance , he spends the next two weeks flying across the globe ; trying to find her. but nothing , there is no trace , and it’s not as if he doesn’t know where she’s gone. there’s one thing , and one thing only that could create such a void in the universe ; that could simply pluck something out of existence the way that it did her --- a celestial had taken her , and he knew that arishem was most likely the culprit. this realization had created a strange sense of dispair , in the idea that he was just an eternal , and even if he did his best there was no way that he would be able to save her , and then a facination that for the first time in his entire existance , he had actually considered defying the celestials. this realization had thrown the eternal into a strange sense of mind one that he was not entirely sure he knew how to explain.
he knew one thing though , the only person that mattered was gone , and there was only one other who would be willing to risk everything to find her. and that is how he had ended up in this situation , standing side by side with a human who was worth far more than himself. he saw every flaw in himself reflected positively in dane ; sersi’s new love interest was one he didn’t think that he would find himself admiring. not that he would ever admit that to the human , not that he would ever fully admit it to himself. but as they brainstormed ways to find arishem in the first place he always found himself facinated by how similar the man was to his ancestors. he hadn’t spoken to percival in centuries and yet , he could see the knight reflected in the new one. for the first time since the moment he came to earth , ikaris found himself smiling because of the humans themselves. and similing in a situation that ; he shouldn’t be ...
“ we never reached out for arishem , he always found us --- through ajax and then sersi ... ” a small pause mid coversation over coffee in london , to be quite frank , ikaris had never tried to reach out to arishem himself , but he also didn’t have whatever that ball of celestial magic was that had allowed the connection to occur in the first place. hands reach into his hair as he tries to think more. thinking had never been his strongsuit ; he’d always just had to follow orders. “ --- but , we had a ship , that we left a location from... the forge must be somewhere in space , that is where we are made , that must be where he has her. ”
