Is your muse one to sit down with a new partner and formally define a relationship, or do they prefer to go with the flow and see what happens?
How much stock does your muse put in first impressions? What is the best way to make a good first impression with your muse?
(For Margot and Davy)
MARGOT.
Is your muse one to sit down with a new partner and formally define a relationship, or do they prefer to go with the flow and see what happens?
definitely needs defined parameters. such conversations aren't easy for her, and she knows this, but she's just as aware that they are necessary in order for her to like, function. she needs rules to follow and value given to variables so that she can schedule things, plan her next move, attempt to control her degree of emotional attachment, etc. (see this thread.)

margot, brilliant being that she is, thinks very quickly. being so good in chess tournaments requires this of her.
she does think before she acts. in rapid succession. so first impressions are based as much on conscious cognition as they are on subconscious perceptions that influence her attitude. she trusts her first assessment/judgment very much; she puts a lot of stock into her intuition.
anyway, things that will lead to a good first impression, which may serve, to us, to discredit that Very Sound Good Judgment: being attentive to her. caring what she has to say. allowing her room to grow. an interest in chess or mathematics. with women: stereotypically "feminine" traits. submissiveness. with men: not much! respect.
DAVY.

absolutely. davy is big into setting boundaries and expectations, especially because he's prone to juggling multiple casual flings at a time. he wants everybody to be on the same page. this also helps him process things better—talking them out, etc.

davy, like his mother, is very forgiving and understanding. i dont think he would let a first impression get in the way of liking somebody—though he is very perceptive, and takes a lot in and makes a lot of judgments at a first interaction. he definitely wants to learn more about a person and assumes he will be proven wrong if he initially notes some small hint at a more malicious or unlikable nature.
that being said, once he's made his mind up that you suck, it's difficult for him to change it. there are certain things he finds repugnant that he won't change his view on, and if you tap into those traits unapologetically, he'll let you speak for yourself.
as for things that will lead to a good first impression: a balance of well-bred good manners and emotional vulnerability. compassion. go-with-the-flow tendencies.
