As I help her into the cab, I see a used condom half-hidden by snow on the curb. My bad mood gets annoyed at Jean for living in such a crummy neighbourhood. I blame Jean again as we pass by a street corner full of people who look like they are on the verge of getting arrested for urinating in public. Despite the fact that Jean’s living situation has come out of a series of factors far out of her control, in my grumpiness, I blame her. The used condom on the ground. The neighbourhood vagrants.
