Queen Mi Amore Cadenza, ruler of the Crystal Empire and defender of the Crystal Heart, Reigning Queen of Love, head of the Temple of Amore, mother to Mio Cuore Raffica and Crown Prince Mia Fioritura Battaglia.
She has remained the monarch most integrated among the common ponies for the vast majority of her reign, often taking time to meet with her subjects and speak to them face-to-face so they know she cares. Although she is younger than either of her aunts, Cadence is still a wise and experienced ruler who leads with even more compassion than Celestia.
That closeness and personable interaction with the denizens of Equestria was exactly how she met her late-husband, Shining Armor, and since his death she’s been notably forlorn in her latter interactions though she has not halted in her usual socializations. Loss is a part of life, something she has felt before when she’s watched her subjects age and pass on throughout the years, and she mourns them all.
Some nobility in the Crystal Empire and Equestria do not agree with the way Queen Cadenza conducts herself, however. She is a ruler, not a friend and confidant to her people, her time could be much better spent seeing to diplomatic matters, laws and regulations, and her own noble house.
At least her second-born is at an age where they will be taking on more and more of their mother’s duties, especially the ones she neglects in favor of conversing with the masses. Fioritura will make a good King, he has to...
