Do you ever wonder how do the Dinosaurs fit in the Pokemon creation Myth?
Because I have a theory.
Ok, so, Arceus is born from the golden egg in the void, from its shell he creates Dialga and Palkia, Time and Space, and then from the remaining entrophy in the now filling void, Giratina is born/created.
1) The 3 siblings create the universe, and then they create their respective sphere of creation to rule over, Space, Time and the Primordial Chaos, with Arceus ruling over them as god king.
2) In the vastness of space, Earth starts existing. A lifeless rock, yet still worthy to have a second, mysteriously generated Golden Egg. This one contains Mew Alpha (Important to note the Alpha), and from them Pokemonkind is borne. As its role as the Demiurge, it creates the Primordial Wardens of the Deep, Groudon for the primordial land and Kyogre for the primordial seas, and Rayquaza as warden of the skies, and together the three shape earth, it's regions and continents.
3) From the stars and another world, Solgaleo and Lunala come and give them the Sun and the Moon. Now good for mortal life, Mew starts generating the Dinosaurs, first rulers of the world. This lasts for the Gods know how long, untill two things happen.
4) On one side of the world, Kyogre and Groudon enter in conflict, laying devastation on the world and separating the regions into islands, forcing Rayquaza to abandon his role as Warden of the Skies to placate its siblings.
5) On the other side, Solgaleo and Lunala accidentally crash against each other, Lunala splintering and shattering, her rocks falling against the earth and jumpstarting a extintion event. The Biggest rock is the one that hits Mount Moon, and the moon's Energy starts irradiating the world, followed by the less common Sun and Shiny Stones from Solgaleo.
6) Now shattered, Solgaleo and Lunala devolve into a statis form, their respective celestial bodies becoming their cocoons and eggs. On the other side of the World, Rayquaza is forced to send its sibling into a deep slumber in the deeps, sealing them there, before, diminished by the fight and the extintion of life, he crawls away and starts his own slumber sonewhere else.
7) Mew Alpha perishes in the impact, and its shattered corpse, irradiated by the energy of sun and moon. The dinosaurs become stone, deep beneath the ground and the deeps, and what's left of Mew DNA turns into another egg, stone as well.
8) Life finds a way, and from the Egg is born Mew Beta, the one we have in the series. What is left of its stone egg will be the basis for MewTwo creation. Mew Beta, far younger and more impish than its predecessor, becomes a Trickster god, and returns giving life to the world. From its broken egg, what's left of the Primordial Mew spews the first Modern Pokemon, Ditto.
9) Rayquaza is the first to recuperate, and meets back with Mew Beta, so different yet so similar to their parent. Now truly alone, Rayquaza requests new companionship and help in its Task, so Mew generates the Modern Wardens, to control life, death, the seas, the fires of rebirth and all that.
10) From Mew and the Dittos acting as breeders for the new races of Pokemon, some of them forever changed by the new, radioactive elemental stones scattered in the world. Life blooms, and from within it, Man is born, and from Men, new Pokemon, borne from their hubris, their dreams, their nightmares, their cleverness and all that.
11) And with men, we're starting the known history, and with history being Born, Palkia creates Celebi, warden of time, to record and protect its domain, a trickster god that became countless one, one for each possible timeline. Completely forgetting about the first Mew, and the Dinosaurs it birthed into the world.
