I know I’ve been a bit late and she was internet’s biggest obsession already in 2017. 

Ofc it’s pop, and ofc it’s all marketing. But it’s undeniable there’s something interesting about her and her music. At least someone is not trying to make her way in the industry by showing skin and making the same bubblegum pop everybody else does. Not saying she has a unique style..... Long before her K. Flay and Bishop Briggs found a way to make alternative music without the need to take their clothes off or look fancy.

How to categorise this? Pure talent. There’s probably three different genres that make up the whole song, and instead of giving you a feeling of “too much going on” or “idk why there’s a rap part in this song” everything seems to mesh quite well.

The song would certainly fit in a soundtrack for a weird drama like Sharp Objects.

Don’t know any of the artists but they are definitely great and the production is superb. Gonna have to check what else they have out there.

New song from Chvrches which features a Japanese band. 

Lauren’s vocals are heaven and the mix between English and Japansese lyrics works perfectly for this song’s style. Also noteworthy is the amazing music video they’ve put out for it. A pleasure both visual and auditory.
