Episode 11 notes
I reccomend reading the episode right before reading this, otherwise it might be a little confusing.
THESE NOTES WILL HAVE SPOILERS UP TO EPISODE 147!!!
GENERAL NOTES:
Y'know, as R&M are in the football team with Day and Exer, I wonder how close they actually are. Or how close each of them think they are. Exer clearly hates R&M. But Day's and R&M might be a little more complicated than that? Idk, the first scene abt the chocolate seemed like sth only close ppl would do to each other. Maybe Day's and R&M's relationship is the toxic version of that
Look at this:
We have a pannel of ppl commenting on Ron's height, then a close up of Ron's face thinking to himself and then a flashback of Jackson calling him "Frankenstein" and being scared of him.
Ron's clearly feeling off place; he's a foreign student in a new country and, to top it off, he has an unusual height that makes him stand out a lot. He must be having a huge cultural shock too.
Also, I've never seen anyone point out that in the Halloween party he dressed as Frankenstein: (IMG: Episode 55)
It's a way to represent him embracing his differences with everybody else.
And also, it is very romantic that Tim fell for Ron when he was being himself at the fullest
Also related to the Frankenstein scene; Jackson sometimes acts impulsively and then regrets it, just like when he yelled at the resolution of the skirt arc
This is also linked to the fight: Jackson impulsively goes and starts a fight with Exer. Like sometimes he has a burst of emotions and acts based on them without even able to stop and think what he's doing. Probably why he started bottling up his emotions: he felt unable to control himself, so he tried to supress his emotions to regain control.
Jackson sometimes thinks in Spanish and says "Ay" instead of "Ow". Meaning he's really influenced by the language. That's a good learning method if you want to get better at a language. But what's most interesting to me is how much effort he puts into understanding and being closer to Carol, only for then not to call her "Tía". He longs for her trust but at the same time feels like he can't trust her.
Ron is definitely feeling bad for the cultural barrier, and Jackson is the one who Ron understands the least and the one who understands Ron the least. So he's really affected by his comments and is irritated when being with him
"Our favourite song"??? I can't say that I'm a Dexer fan (I'm not a hater either. Just neutral) but I can't deny they had chemistry before being affected by the Diary
If Exer was controlling the skirt from afar all this time, why didn't he went looking for him before lunch?
