*Repost @equitynukba We have noticed a play in a renowned London theatre set in an Eastern European country. Apparently no Eastern European was included in either cast or crew in what is a production about real-life figures and historic events in an Eastern European country. On occasion, there may be a justified artistic reason to “Briticise” foreign settings and characters, but the fact that this happens in virtually every single UK production outside fringe theatre continues the complete exclusion of a huge part of the UK population from British theatre (10M people or 15% in the UK are foreign-born, 37% or more than 1 in 3 in London).
