Green is big this season from Olive Green- Kakhi - Forrest Green and Teal Green to name a few. I love a cargo style jacket for both an easy business casual look or weekend styling. This one pictured here has a few added bells and whistles ( code for bling) to elevate it for a dressier look- case in point are the polished buttons! Leather or faux leather pants look hot, or wear it with jeans( not ripped for work). As much as I try to correct the misconceptions about people with Disabilities I feel like I sometimes have to do the same for fashion. Just because I love fashion and personal style doesn’t mean I am a superficial, shallow, materialistic, asshole. Sometimes the herd thinks that these concepts are not mutually exclusive. You can still love style and be serious. You can enjoy the artistry of fashion and be fierce. You can also support the notion that fashion/style is a form of personal expression, not just labels, trends and consumption. Sustainability is an issue I am passionate about and the fashion industry is a huge offender when it comes to pollution and grotesque violations of human rights in supply chains. We can be part of the solution or part of the problem. Some comments I’m reading today reminded me that I’m a part of the overall solution and wanted to reach out to others who feel the same way I do. I am a stylist, writer and advocate.
