part 3 of TSoT
When Time fell in love with Space it was not surprising, for they were the first two beings to form from the Void, crafted lovingly by Eldest so that they may be the basis on which Reality was built.
And so they fell in love, and eras went by, and eventually they had Fate. And that is when everything changed for Fate brings order and change and life and death and balance. And so, life burst into Reality. Worlds formed and worlds died and dimensioned bloomed and collapsed, and Energy flowed between it all carrying with it the essence of all things. It gathered and pooled together forming a web that tied all the small realities together. It connected them all, allowing Energy to flow between them. And in this inbetween space the energy was renewed. It pulled out decay and entropy and filtered it before sending it out again to bring forth more life, more change, more growth.
And so the Infinite Realms were born. A place filled with the energy of creation, held in balance by the concepts that uphold Reality. Beings formed not from entropy like some of the Realms inhabitants, but creatures born of concepts and ideas.
Now Neverborns are tricky things, ideas are always changing, concepts changing as understanding develops. Thus Neverborns are always being rebirthed, dying and coming to be with the rise and fall of new ideas. Some dying out completely while others rise from the birth of new ideas as life continues to grow and develop and change. But there are ones that have always been, and always will be. Fear, curiosity, dreams, nature, growth, death, time, and space.
Reincarnation after reincarnation after reincarnation.
But Time and Space have been connected since the beginning. Joined even closer with the bringing of Fate and the making of Reality. Thus, Time and Space will always be fated to meet though their relationship has differed through their various incarnations. (And sometimes they do not find each other at all.) For without Time and Space how can the other concepts exist? How can Reality itself stand without them? They were the first, and they are the ones that are crucial to maintaining Balance. For without Time how can there be growth or death or dreams? And without Space there is no place for anything to live, to dream, to grow.
Even if all else were to fall and Reality were to collapse on itself, Time and Space would remain. And gradually, slowly, Reality would build itself up once more. It has happened before and it will happen again. This is the way things are and always will be. Not to imply that there is no mourning when such a thing happens. But Reality cannot stand without Balance, and there cannot be Balance without Time and Space and the Concepts and the flow of Energy.
Time and Space do not often remember their past incarnations, but still they feel something tugging at them, a notion that the other is important in some way. (Time might remember more, but that is because he cheats.)
In the few instances when they don’t find each other, those incarnations are tumultuous (Kronos was never satisfied and was always searching for something, always knowing something was missing.)
Their reincarnations are not always romantic. They have been lovers, the dearest of friends, siblings, parent and child, but they nearly always find each other.
But eventually, as ideas developed and the concept of space became associated with the ever expanding cosmos, the unreachable stars, Space stretched too thin until they disappeared into the very fabric of Reality.
It has been eras since they last found each other, and Reality has paid the price, drifting ever more into Unbalance and ever closer to Unreality.
And while Space fell into a deep slumber, no longer able to gather the energy necessary to create an avatar in which to funnel their power, Time, as a constant, continued on. Carrying on reincarnation after reincarnation, always searching for Space and knowing that they would not be found till a long time yet to come.
But Fate kept steady at her loom, for to weave together the fabric of Reality, intertwining Time and Space, is an admirable task. And the tapestry was coming together so beautifully. She could see the shining masterpiece it would be. There were dark threads in the fabric but it was also shot through with light. It would be incredible once they pushed through this era of instability and finally reached the truest Balance there had ever been since Eldest first crafted Space and Time.
And while Time occasionally went mad with grief, when he pulled himself together enough to peer into the rivers and eddies of his craft, he finally saw a time when Space would finally be reincarnated. When they would finally meet again.
There would be many trials to overcome, and it would be years between the birth of the reincarnation of Space and them coming into their full power. But Time would wait, he would guide the child until they were ready to come into their true self.
Time would be patient, he would be the guardian of this child, he would do everything in his power to guide them into a bright future. Because finally, after all these years, Time would no longer be alone, and Reality would finally be able to settle once more into Balance.
I never even questioned mentally calling you 'Pilf' like it only just occurred to me I have no idea what your name is WHICH FEELS STRANGE because we talk? But 'Pilf' makes you sound like a clever fantasy trickster mentor who has All The Information which.... is kind of accurate?
It is what by FAR Most People in my life call me! And so definitely as good a name as anything else!
Ahahah I only WISH I had All The Information, I have not even unlocked the Language of The Secrets (which is. French. Very secret, not a SUPER MAJORLY POPULAR world language at all. Definitely.) But I love your interpretation!
