Sis messaged me about the Emicakes offer she saw online and I asked my colleagues if they wanted it. Two colleagues took up the offer. We would love to collect this 15cm durian cake 🎂 at the same time from their Causeway Point store but the online store wouldn’t allow her to purchase more than two cakes per day. She ended up having to split the collection over two different days.

This 500g Classic D24 Durian Cake (S$20.50) with two layers of D24 filling made with 100% genuine D24 durian flesh mixed with a bit of fresh cream, in between layers of Emicakes' soft and fluffy original chiffon. As echoed by my colleagues, the durian flavour is a little muted this round and I also found the chiffon’s texture a bit rough though overall it was still a fantastic indulgence. In fact, my colleague said she can finish the whole cake 🍰 in one sitting. (☉_☉)

Sis purchased this 15cm Mango Lychee Cake (S$29.90) from Emicakes during their online flash sale. The confection spotted a pale yellow cream coat with pastel pink frosting and simple white chocolate decorations. Cutting out a slice, there are three layers of chiffon cake sandwiching two layers of mango mousse with lychee chunks, albeit the canned stuff. On the first bite, you get the perfumed taste of canned fruit; guess they made full use of the lychee syrup too. :D Then came the texture of the fruit and the sweetness which is a little cloying for me as there are no acidity to balance it out. Overall, was a decent treat but not something I would buy again.

Sis bought online from Emicakes this 15cm (500g) Milo Fantasy Cake. For the cake’s decoration, it is a simple chocolate shavings in the centre with a dusting of Milo powder. On the inside, it got two layers of Milo mousse in between three layers of choco chiffon cake. While the chiffon is soft and fluffy, one cannot help but think of this as just a plain Jane chocolate cake minus any surprises. Decent tasting but not something I would buy again.

Sis ordered online from Emicakes for their Durian Shiok Bundle (S$29.60) which contains 12 pieces of Ultimate D24 Durian Puffs and 4 Durian Crepes. Opening the box, one of the puffs have spilled its content. In the next picture, I am showing the cross section of a frozen puff which you need to keep inside the freezer compartment. Before eating, thaw it in the fridge for at least 2 hours to soften the durian filling. Taste-wise, the durian filling is not as pure and fragrant as these durian puffs.

The Durian Crepes are packed individually in their own plastic box. If you look carefully at the advertising image provided by the vendor, it is made to resemble as if the whole crepe is filled with only durian puree. Although in actual fact, there is this layer of soft chiffon cake with almost the same colouring sitting on the bottom half. The crepe is supposed to be filled with 100% genuine D24 durian flesh but the filling is too white to be pure D24 durian which has a golden yellowish flesh. Overall, this is just a decent snack but is not fantastic.

The cake was sparsely decorated but who cares when it is the quality that counts. Plus we got this 500g Emicakes D24 Durian Desire Cake at a good bargain of S$22.80 (Usual S$34.80) from an online time sale. Soft fluffy light sponge cakes sandwiched between two layers of D24 durian puree that is oh so good… Yum…

Yet another cake sis bought online from Emicakes. This 500g Authentic Yam Cake (S$18.90) has real bits of yam blended into the smooth purple yam paste and sandwiched between three layers of soft vanilla chiffon cake. I actually wished that it had less frosting on the outside and coarser yam pieces inside for better texture.

Sis was casually browsing online for discounted sales and came across this 600g Chocolate Truffle Cake (S$21.20) from Emicakes. Squares of dark and white chocolate are embedded partially into the glossy surface of the cake for decorations. On the side, you get three layers of chocolate chiffon with 2 layers of chocolate mousse. Chocolate truffle bits are mixed in with the chocolate filling to give it a lovely chocolatey texture.

Sis scored an even better bargain online from Emicakes with this 500g D24 Durian Fantasy Cake (S$19.80). It is similar to the D24 Durian Desire Cake she bought earlier but this one came with two durian puffs instead and priced even lower. Both had the same fluffy soft sponge cakes with D24 durian cream filling in-between except this had only one layer of the filling, albeit, a thicker layer.
