VEECARE DENTAL ROOT ELEVATORS ONLINE AT BEST PRICE IN CHANDIGARH
Elevators are used to provide luxation forces to tooth which is connected with the surrounding alveolar bone and tooth particle roots. Luxation makes the space between teeth roots and the surrounding alveolar bone. It severs the periodontal ligament and push the roots away from the alveolar bone surface. This expansion increases the tooth particle movement inside the socket. The luxation forces on alveolar bone can cause alveolar bone fracture or cause necrosis of bone cells lining the socket because of the pressure or compression induced .Forces on alveolar bone can be minimized by sectioning tooth particles such that individual tooth particles transmit less force to alveolar bone during luxation.
Elevators are used for extraction or luxation of tooth of tooth fragments which can not be hold by the blades of forceps eg malposed teeth or impacted teeth or roots.
has three parts: Handle, Shank and Blade
: Cross Bar Elevators Straight Elevators Curved Elevators
Where to use the elevator
To luxate the teeth prior to the application of forcep
To remove or luxate the teeth which forceps can not hold like malposed, impacted, fragile or teeth with cervical caries.
When forcep can cause trauma or primary application of forcep is difficult.
To remove the roots broken during operation.
To remove the remaining roots either buried or visible in the bone.
Dangers in the use of Elevator
Adjacent tooth may get extracted or loosened.
May fracture maxilla, mandible, tuberosity or alveolar process.
May force teeth or root into nearby vital structures- Maxilary Sinus, IAC or tissue spaces
Slippage may lead to tissue, lingual nerve, oral mucosa, tounge, floor of the mouth, soft palate, pharynx and tonsil injury.
Rules in the use of Elevators
Don’t use adjacent tooth as fulcrum unless that tooth is to be extracted in the same operation.
The elevator’s movement has to be controlled to avoid tip slippage and thus causing injury to soft and hard tissues.
Don’t use buccal plate at the gingival line as a fulcrum except when extracting the lower third molar.
