Involuntary - Trouble for the WIP ask game?
From this ask game. This is actually a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cross-over chapter. 23-20 is my unnamed not-boxboy in Involuntary. '359 is Aiden from Unintentional.
Half the trainees fall to their knees the second de Vos cracks his baton against the wall, cowering or crying or worse. The better-assimilated population and the handful of seasoned workers present are more prudent. Awaiting an official command but with lowered gazes, hands behind their backs or pinned to their sides.
‘359 almost went down with the first group, more in anticipation of the command that would follow than out of blind fear. He’s been working on when to take an intuitive step and when to await instruction. He got it right this time.
When de Vos bellows, “Floor!” the rest of the room folds neatly to the ground, all the more dignified in their descent than the earlier collapse. All except 23-20.
