newtina fanfic idea:
newt is coming to macusa to work on the grindelwald case since he recently escaped from azkaban. it has been discovered that grindelwald is gathering an obscurus army to fight by his side. newt, to his delight, is tasked to work with tina's auror division and looks forward to seeing his friend again. but when he arrives, he is greeted by an exhausted, stressed-looking tina who works behind a messy table and drinks an average of eight cups of coffee a day. she is clearly overworked and a very concerned newt asks queenie what's wrong. she tells him that on a recent mission to apprehend an obscurus, tina faced a major dilemma because the obscurus they had to apprehend turned out to be credence. he killed two of her colleagues and didnt seem to remember her. tina, in shock due to the fact that she didnt know he was still alive, had been overworking herself ever since, desperate to save him. newt thus takes it upon himself to bring back the old, headstrong and confident tina goldstein he knows and loves. probably best as angst and fluff some extra conflict: since newt saw a wisp of credence's obscurus drift off at the end of fbawtft, he doesnt know whether to tell tina that he had known credence was alive. he turns out to be a bad keeper of secrets anyway, so all hell breaks loose when tina finds out.
The best part of Crimes of Grindelwald has gotta be when he said IT’S GRINDELWALD TIME and Grindelwalded all over those aurors.
Maybe he died at 40 with his heart broken and taken in front of him.
But we buried him at 115.
