It hadn’t been a terribly long absence, but one tended to pay the price when brief periods of separation were spent oceans apart. Noah only had to hop on a bus to visit his mother on those rare occasions. Cal? Cal had to literally fly across the world. It made his casual little comment all the sweeter. “You’ve no idea how much better it is t’see you,” clearly comfortable enough to be head-over-heels for his husband in such a public place, Noah’s free hand eagerly reached out for one of Cal’s, holding tight as he leaned in for a kiss.

“Everyone doin’ well back home, then? Well enough that you look like y’got some time t’relax on a beach somewhere, if that nice wee tan’s anythin’ t’go by...” Leave it to Noah to give himself an excuse to ogle in such a throwaway observation, “Pillow in the car for the drive home if you’re too tired t’regale me with stories, but-” he trailed off, very clearly implying that he’d be just a little bit sad if Cal didn’t stay awake the whole time so Noah could drink his fill, “Missed ya loads.”

             a smile twitched the corners of his lips at ella’s question. he’d never really considered himself a good dancer, but he’d also not had much time to practice. he stood slowly, hand reaching out to take hers as he pulled her to her feet.

That’s the question you’re asking me? Really? It’s a strange feeling, to be wanted, “I don’t know,” and there he is, looking at least a little bit apologetic for the fact that he’s playing into the whole ‘mysterious apostate’ schtick. Berrie’s not the type to stick around, not in Ren’s opinion, at least. He doesn’t put up with shit, seems more likely to see him off with a ‘fuck you, then’ than a ‘just keep in touch, okay?’

“I don’t know, okay? I just- it feels like some shit’s gonna go down and I really don’t wanna drag this place into it. You can still garden outside, Leo won’t mind-” It’s a feeble excuse, especially so given that Berrie lives with Fenix, of all people, who probably would’ve been a bit more fast and loose with his foresight if it meant any harm was going to come to Ren. Still, he’d learned not too long ago to trust his intuition, even when it felt like some horrible impulse. “I will be back, though. Once I shake this feeling, or the circle shows up and tries to kill me, or some shit... I’ll be back.”

“Woah, what?” the team had been frequent enough patrons of Arcadia that it shouldn’t really have come as much of a surprise that Jake had been paying attention to the group’s activities; what was a surprise, though, was the fact that he’d clearly had his eyes on Alex while he’d been mingling with another club-goer. And yeah, okay, maybe he had a bit of a habit of turning on the charm and batting his eyelashes, but that was just him, that wasn’t flirting.

Brow was quirked as he huffed out an awkward laugh, head shaking, “No, no, uh, we’re not a thing. They were one of my TAs last year so- Yeah, no, just catching up over drinks.”

“Babe, you’re scratching it again,” even in the relative darkness of the room, Tristan’s anything but unaware of the movement of Wes’ hand. The admonishment naturally carries with it a certain level of soft teasing, but Tristan is quick to close the minimal distance between them to ensure that there isn’t much room for interpretation. Straining, he reaches over and turns on a light, bemused brows raised as he regards his boyfriend. “You’re gonna have to get that shit touched up if you scratch it too much, you know that, right?”

Hand locks with Wes’ formerly preoccupied one, holds it close while he gets a proper look at the other’s healing tattoo. “Mm, see, it’s healing really well ‘cause you haven’t been poking and prodding at it. Do I need to distract you from it? ‘Cause you know I will.”

The tickle of Jake’s hair on the back of his neck is the first thing that gives the other man away; it sends a shiver down Alex’s spine, has him just about resisting the urge to raise his shoulders to dispel the feeling. Jake’s quicker, though, and the faint reminder of ticklish hair is replaced by the warmth of lips and the distraction of arms wrapping around his midsection. He chuckles warmly into the air, rests his hands on those that are resting on his waist as he lavishes in the attention. Clearly his lover was keen on admiring his hickey-based handiwork...

“You could at least kiss me from the front so I can return the favour, y’know-” but the teasing complaint didn’t hold much by way of seriousness, especially not when Jake’s lips settled over one of the bruises adorning the side of Alex’s neck, “The fact that you’re taking advantage of the fact that I bruise really easily is kinda offensive, too” not that he could complain when a groan dropped from his lips.
