Day 27: A Muggle AU Fic

Of Bookshelves and Baby Carriers by poppunkpadfoot (Wolfstar, T, 11.8k)

The customer standing in front of him is quite possibly the most beautiful man Remus has ever seen. Like, he looks like a model or something. He has long, black hair, flattened by water, and just the slightest amount of scruff on his face, and… And a baby strapped to his chest. Okay.

This fic is cute AF! 😍 Doing a reread of this again made me squee about how Remus is such a precious cinnamon roll who needs more hugs, Harry is adorable, and Sirius' flirting is hilarious. So much flangst, this is a bookshop fic, and 1000% a pick-me-up if you need something to brighten your day. A+++ aka go read this ASAP!

Day 28: An Under-Rated Fic

Chimera by Literallyliterary (Flintbell, E, 11.5k)

Years after Hogwarts, years after the war, Katie Bell finds herself traded from the Harpies to the Tornados and into the hands of team captain Marcus Flint. It’s a lot easier to ignore a childhood crush when you have to take orders from him, right? …Right??

I always love a good Quidditch fic, and this one seriously delivers, especially with all the UST built up from Hogwarts days. The way Marcus and Katie push each other's buttons but are clearly attracted to each other is amazing, and there are just so many Feelings waiting to spill out, especially after they get physical. It's spicy, it's got that fiery Gryffindor-Slytherin relationship dynamic we all love, the mutual pining is for real, and the competitive streak is so alive. For the game, for a chance, and yeah, this was what really solidified my love for this rare pair when I first discovered them. Def give this a shot if you'd like to dip into new ships!

Day 29: A Post-Canon Fic

Winter, 1999. Harry thought going to New York would help him get his head on straight, but all he has to show for it are sore feet and a fridge full of takeaway containers. And now he’s homesick on top of everything else. It doesn’t help that his mysterious neighbour in 2C keeps cooking dishes that remind Harry of home and all the people he lost or left behind.

I adore fics that include anything senses or food related. And gosh, this one with the angst and food as a love language is gorgeous. The small details really makes this a story I can visually see. Also, Draco cooks! 'Nuff said. And the way Harry and Draco gradually fall in love is so heartwarming. It's on their own terms, in a different country. Love, love, love. Definitely a must-read for a sleepy or rainy day.

Day 31: A Fav Amongst Favs

Drowned Boy by bmouse (Marcus/Percy/Oliver, M, 4k)

Oliver wants to drown himself. Percy wants to study, but he's willing to be distracted. Marcus probably wants trouble, but it's hard to tell.

Sooo, PoA is my 2nd fav HP book, and any references to that Quidditch game where Oliver tries drowning himself in the shower or missing moments right after are gold. Marcus and Oliver banter at each other as usual, but then Percy gets tangled in their chaos, and it kind of escalates. They're all boys with hormones, and yeah. 😜 This fic is so well written where you can see the attraction between each of them, and the dynamics work. *chef's kiss* (And since I genuinely like to delve into character studies for Marcus, Percy and Oliver, this was the fic convinced me that they're an awesome triad. Hell yeah.)

💞 [FIC] Chosen of His Own Accord 💞 (T, Draco/Harry, 17.8k)

From the prompt: Some families (the Malfoys, the Blacks, etc.) choose never to learn who their soulmate is due to the very high likelihood that they're not a pure-blood. But the desire for your "other half" is strong, and every now and then, someone from those families decides to break tradition. In which Draco gets braver, Harry chooses his own path, and they both run into each other a lot while running errands.

Desperate enough to put his life in the hands of a backstreet practitioner to see if finally getting rid of the Dark Mark can make a difference. But his decision has consequences he had not expected, and may provide the answer as to why Harry Potter seems unable to leave him alone.

Aww, thanks for sending this over, M! I’m getting better at self recs, though I’m still shy about my writing. But I’ll give this a shot anyway: Little did I know (Perciver, T, 2.4k)- This fic is my baby. It marks so many firsts for me: first fic of 2021, first time posting a fic after a 10 year hiatus, first time writing different character PoVs and for a different ship, and first time trying to stay under 2.5k words. The love and support it has gotten has been phenomenal, and has encouraged me to keep building this world and to keep going with a whole series. Summary: Right after the Battle of Hogwarts, Percy and Oliver find their way back to each other again. Sweet Surrender (Jegulus, E, 333 with art)- This ficlet also marks new firsts: first time writing smut in 11 years (I guess I haven’t lost that skill yet ;D), first time delving into PWP in writing, first time making something for Jegulus, and first time posting fic AND art together. I wrote and drew this up in 2 days (don’t ask how), but I’d say that was quite an accomplishment! Summary: Spanking always served as foreplay to get the adrenaline going. But if James wanted more, Regulus would give it to him. Testing the Limits (Hucey, E, 147)- Okay, more firsts! First time writing this rare pair, and first time trying to write smut in under 150 words. Let me say, that was not easy. This drabble was one of my favs from A Study in Kink, and there really needs to be more of these two together. Summary: Terence is caught by surprise when Adrian fulfills one of his longtime fantasies. Hooked on You (Flintbell, E, 148)- Another fave rare pair I got to write for. First time writing them and writing het. This drabble was on fire and one the quickest ones I wrote because the idea just worked. I’m definitely up for exploring more of this ship in the future because I really like their dynamic. Summary: Marcus lets himself get carried away every time he goes down on Katie. There’s a guiding light (Perciver, G, 2.5k)- I posted this one up at the beginning of the month, and I am so proud I finally finished it! Fun fact: I wrote this in 2020 but threw it to the side because I wasn’t sure where it was going, and I was iffy about my writing back then. Only recently with inspiration and some cheer-leading did I pick it up again, and now it exists! Summary: When Percy struggles to conjure a Patronus, Oliver helps out by giving him a motivating push. Maybe in a separate rec list, I’ll include my favs dating back from 2006-2011, since I’m planning to edit and re-release some older fics on AO3 for the first time starting in the next month or so (that’s 50k+ of Drarry and 12K+ of Deamus :P). HP Shipuary/Kinkuary Drabbles and Art Round-Up (February 1-15)

When I first thought about making something for @hpshipuary and @kinkuary, I thought I’d contribute a few art pieces here and there and call it a day. I did not expect for explicit drabbles to come out this too, let alone for multiple ships. But they now exist. And it’s been really fun writing different ships.
