nooooo don't start ganging up on me 😭😭 @rabbitmotifs im blaming you for this!!

but in all seriousness, i think a big part of the reason that im reluctant to watch ats is because i do Not enjoy s3 angel 😭 like the angel that walks backwards out of btvs and into ats is the worst version of angel imo :// i don’t wanna be mean!!!! if you love all versions of angel then yay!!! but i’ve never been a huge fan (except for angelus i LOVE angelus. perhaps best villain in all of btvs) of angel and then s3 angel is just... really dull and boring to me lol

the other part (and this is MASSIVELY selfish of me lol) is that btvs is Perfect to me. like. i think it’s maybe the greatest television series of all time. i love everything about it SO MUCH!! even the parts that i don’t like i still love, because those parts make up the whole of a thing that i love so so much.

and im a bit scared that i won’t love ats as much and that it’ll like .. lessen how much i love btvs?? which really doesn’t make any sense lol but it is a thought that's in my brain

anyway! if i DO watch it, it'll be in tandem with buffy (like how it aired) and i'm about to hit 'becoming' in my rewatch so i have one more season until i have to decide!!

34. what’s your book/movie/tv guilty pleasure?

I LOVE trashy horror manga. I love spending an afternoon or two just plowing through a trashy horror manga with like a 4.3 out of 10 rating on Mangadex or Mangaupdates.

39. what’s one feature you would change on tumblr?

It's hard to narrow it down to just one lol, but for the love of god, STOP MESSING WITH THE DASHBOARD!!!! I literally have to use a browser add-on to make the dash usable after certain updates.

40. what’s the most interesting item you own?

This one kinda stumped me because I own a lot of things I personally find interesting but am not sure others would find interesting. I guess I would go with the life-size Eternal Tiare Proplica I bought a while ago; it's based on the staff form Eternal Sailor Moon uses in the manga so it's almost as tall as I am.

I actually don't have anywhere to display it because it's so big, so I just keep it in my closet, lol. When I eventually move out and get my own place, I'd love to mount it on a wall!

Definitely this line from adrian's pov im chapter 14 of golden lily.

i knew i wanted to write adrian realizing his feelings for sydney but i was having a hard time finding out how he would describe it. originally i had something along the lines of "i was head over heels in love with her" but it didn't suit him. i kept rereading the last chapter of golden lily and other famous sydrian quotes and noticed how adrian often says he and sydney belong to each other - "there's no one else out there who understands you like i do," the "i am hers and she is mine" quote from fiery heart - and how much power sydney has on him - "you're my flame in the dark," "you inspire me in every act, every word, every glance." the line needed to have a touch of adrian's poetic declarations without it explicitly stating his feelings.

and then somewhere along the way my brain went "well, adrian is so in love with her that his heart belongs to sydney and no one else's."

AND BAM! the line was born.

this looks easy in theory but i swear, the version history of this fic says this line was written one to two days before i posted it on ao3.

7. What do they get up to on a night out?

it varies i think? just in general i think they wouldn't want to do the same thing all the time. assuming there's ever a time where there is ever a time where it is viable to go to a nice restaraunt like the ones inara mentioned in ariel, they might do that. might not totally be kaylee's vibe but she'd appreciate it was simon's way of trying to do something nice for her. they'd go to local bars/watering holes/what have you of whatever planet they're visiting, too. not totally simon's scene either but kaylee likes meeting new people and simon likes watching her do it. really, as long as they're spending time together, they're happy.

15. When they watch a film what do they choose and why? Who gets the final vote?

they're both honest to god documentary nerds and the main argument is about what Topic they will be watching. they both like watching stuff related to their fields bc neither of them is familiar with the term work-life balance. mechanics/engineering/machinery etc for kaylee and medicine/surgery/medical research for simon. but sometimes they also land on something totally unrelated. in terms of deciding, i think at the start, simon very chivalrously lets her pick. but eventually they start taking turns sjsshsh.

(also: kaylee likes a good romcom too, though between her and inara, inara is the bigger fan. kaylee also (surprisingly?) likes a good horror movie, though the jump scares get her and sometimes she has to hide her head in simon's shoulder. (he doesn't care for horror movies particularly, but he's not scared, and he likes the cuddling component.) simon also likes a good murder mystery and kaylee gets (affectionately) annoyed at him playing detective and trying to solve it/guess plot points before they happen.)

It’s the hair, she tells herself, choosing to ignore the placid expression on his face that reminds her too much of a leader, a man far wiser than his years, a collected calmness. It’s the hair and not the demeanor, not the echoes of war that spark in his brown eyes— Brown eyes, Rukia thinks as she balls her tender fingers into a fist. He looks like Kaien but his eyes are brown, and somewhere deep inside, she thinks she sees the teenaged Ichigo, loud and fiery and disgruntled and brimming with emotions beyond his own comprehension. She insists upon it, because she doesn’t know what she would do if he weren’t there anymore. He looks like Kaien. Or does Kaien look like Ichigo now?

Well I can't find the post about espada Ichigo if you did, so if I'm explaining it a second time we can blame tumblr!

Espada Ichigo is inspired by hashtagartistlife's primera espada AU, which has lived in my head since I first saw it back in 2020, and by Beauty and the Beast. Currently sitting in the wip folder at 3k because, as usual, I bit off way too much with the plot when I started writing it for a past IR event.

Anyway the basic premise is that Ichigo dies very young and, after wandering Hueco Mundo, is made into the primera espada by Aizen. When Aizen and co. betray Soul Society it results in a protracted war, and a chance, desperate meeting (with less stabbing).

“I will make you a deal, shinigami,” he says when he has finished looking her over. “My fracción will return your brother to Soul Society.” Her jaw tightens. “What do you want in return, espada?” The rictus of the mask does not move, but there’s something of a smirk in his voice, though his golden eyes are too wild to be sure. “You will stay here in Las Noches with me.”

9. Do you write every day? If you wrote today, share a sentence of what you've written!

I'm supposed to write every day, I don't always tho. I try to write every weekday, tho. I have an hour built into my workday that is sacred and unbookable and that is my writing hour. I sometimes use it for like, actual writing, and sometimes it's for other things that are also writing. Things like re-reading, or talking out an idea, or thinking on the page about what I want to have happen next in the fic.

12. Do you have a playlist for your current WIP(s)? Share it!

Sure, this one's for a wip I'm still noodling around with, working title is Your Love is a Waterfall, playlist is very much just vibes and mood at this time.

25. Have you ever upset yourself with your own writing?

Oh. Yeah. So, writing for me has always been the way I process shit. So, sometimes, I invent a guy to process things for me and in so doing, end up processing it myself and then I have to like, live in the new reality I have created for myself and it can be really jarring.
