As I imagine many are, I am absolutely devastated emotionally from "the dark crystal: age of resistance" being canceled, and I'm not really sure how to help, what to say, where to say it, so here we are, welcome to my bargain bin Ted talk! I have a deep love for the dark crystal because this show made the world to welcoming and easy to settle into, it feels like a second home that doesn't really exist, I feel a longing for it even across the divide of fiction and real life. The year of having the show and loving the show truly has helped me deal with so much but there's one element that has burrowed itself deeper and deeper into my heart as time goes on. Skekgra and Urgoh. Seeing these two absolute goofballs are some how the most enlightened of either of their groups, yet this leaves the two ostrised from the society they've always lived in, and they found their way back to themself, knowing that the joining of the skeksis and the ura is the only way to save thra and the gelling. Their scenes are this beautiful blend of humour and tragedy, and include to one of my (many) favourite quotes from the show, that always brings tears.
