Today was my last Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association - Broward Chapter Board Meeting. I had the honor serving on this board since 2010 in the capacity as President, Executive Committee Member, Board Director and on numerous committees. This vibrant tourism association has not only opened the doors to be engaged with local, state and federal lawmakers, but also helped us grow our business through their endless supply of tourism related members. This network of over 12,000+ members are the reason why our industry remains strong. Over the past 11 years I worked along the side of so many tourism servant leaders that were passionate to be engaged passed their business and build community. Even though I will not serve as a voting board director, I committed to stay engaged as a non-voting “Honorary Director”. Thank you to all that have mentored and supported me along the way, as I am forever grateful. Special thanks Carol Barnes Dover, President of FRLA, and her amazing staff for always being only a phone call away. To my Broward Chapter Board Members, I am humbled by this special award and recognition. Truly unexpected and surprising. To the past & present chapter directors: Lynne Hernandez, Anne Lawrence Sallee, Lindsey Norris and Rozeta Mahboubi - you have been the dedicated support for our chapter. And a special salute to all the Broward Chapter Presidents for their “Legacy” work: Carlos Molinet, Mark Kukulski, Andreas Ioannou, Kevin Speidel, Eduardo Fernandez, Danielle Rosse, Kara Lundgren, Eric Haseman and next year Anna MacDiarmid. I love y’all! Cheers to tourism - the best industry in the world. #FRLA (at Riverside Hotel) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWZmtHFLFAS/?utm_medium=tumblr
