GALLENGA STENCILED VELVET COAT, c. 1930s

Red-orange panné velvet with an allover pattern of stylized ginko leaves stenciled in silver and gold, having long sleeve very slightly gathered at the shoulder, square neckline, front hook & eye closures, skirt having inverted pleat at center back and lobed hem, dusty rose silk lining, label "Gallenga Roma-Firenze".

Ivory silk stenciled with silver and gold mythological beasts and birds, loop shoulder closures with striped white Murano glass beads, silk gauze side panels cinched with silk cord having beaded tassels beneath floating gauze panels with stenciled borders, wrist closure with two beads and beaded hem.
