finally made a ref(?) sheet for the fantribe featured in my WOF AU :]
—Mistwings—
Description: thin, small dragons with long, finned tails, shorter wings. Typically within shades of greys, desaturated blues, browns, and rarely greens or purples.
Abilities: can remain underwater for prolonged amounts of times, strong swimmers, night vision, weak paralyzing venom, can exhale mist with varying temperatures
Queen: Queen Ghost
lil fan-made cover for Strike since she’s the first POV I would follow if I wrote for this AU (the title was so hard to do and I still hate it oh my god-)
Queen Designs for the Ghostflames AU
Queen Mariana —
A kind yet closed off queen who doesn’t tend to directly address her subjects, instead speaking through her sons or advisors, fearing a possible assassination following her older sister’s mysterious passing.
I’m not the proudest of her colors but overall her design is pretty good considering how much I dislike using blue in most designs.
King Silver —
After the death of his wife, the queen, due to an illness she’d had since hatching, he rules her kingdom so it doesn’t fall to shambles, as he waits for their only child, an heir, to reach maturity so she can take over.
Queen Mirage —
A paranoid queen who doesn’t even trust her own blood after hearing of the assassination of the eldest Seawing princess at the time, she does not trust anyone to be near her without some sort of witness present.
Queen Talon —
A confident queen who challenged her mother as soon as she came of age, she considers herself fair to her subjects, and while she doesn’t treat them poorly, many will note her ignorance of the poorer population.
Queen Starspeaker —
A dragon who believes herself to be the best Nightwing ruler in history, especially after her mother seemed to leave their kingdom in shambles, however, she fails to take notice of her fathers bitterness towards her after his queens death at her claws.
Queen Funaria —
Forced to take over the position of queen when her older sister, the previous queen, died, Funaria does not hold the title in confidence, never adorning herself and insists to not be referred to as queen. She waits patiently for her own clutch to hatch, and for her daughter to challenge her, so her kingdom will have a more suitable ruler.
Queen Iridescence —
Believing fully in her own authority, she does not have much influence in day to day rain kingdom life, only seen when casually traveling through the trees, at sun time, or when her citizens request an audience. She is confident in her ability as a ruler.
Queen Ghost —
An older queen with a single daughter and a son on the way, she rules her kingdom with understanding yet firmness, quick to forgive simple mistakes, but just as quick to handle a problem herself.
Princess Dewdrop of the Mistwings, 8 years old, only heir to the throne.
She does not currently plan to challenge her mother, Queen Ghost, for the throne.
She has the ability to change the temperature of the mist she exhales from normal to scalding hot, hence the warmer eye color.
She was engaged to the animus Wonder of the Mistwings. However he disappeared, and she has not heard from him since, she is beginning to fear he did not love her.
when Oracle is full, any rainwings wandering the misty border of the foreboding groves must take caution. As once the moonlight illuminates the rolling fog, it takes the form of dragons believed to have met gruesome ends that could only find their way to such a gloomy forest. These “spiritwings”, as named by an old Rainwing queen, have never been recorded to have attacked a dragon, but with how quickly they manage to disappear, everyone is ordered to take caution if they see one.
Spiritwings seem to have three glowing eyes, ragged wings, and long serpentine tails. If seen, they will freeze and stare at whoever has caught them, disappearing back into the groves the second they’re out of sight.
On many occasions, they are only seen if actively searched for, very few stumble upon them by accident. The current queen of the Rainwings, Queen Lovebird, advises everyone to be cautious when wandering the border, even if Oracle is not full.
