That panel was seriously awful and I am so glad someone else thought so. Like that cis woman alone was enough to drive me up a wall. I just can not deal with how poorly that was done. I would have left sooner but I kept hoping it would get better. I couldn't handle it anymore when that lady kept bringing the conversation back to her cis lesbian character pretending to be a boy. That was legitimately detrimental to a trans discussion. Sorry I just wanted to rant more DX

I was in the same boat. At first I just opened my phone and browsed tumblr whenever it upset me or I made half formed posts here to distract myself when I was about to be triggered, but kept telling myself it HAD to get better right?
There is no way THAT is the place we are at when it comes to talking about these things at a con. I know from the bottom of my heart we could do better. Hell I know from the bottom of my heart that there were people in that room who could have done a better job.
And it is so frustrating because people at conventions want good conversations on these topics! That room was full! Like the line was spilling out of the barriers betfore we went in and I was so fucking happy because so many people at NYCC want to hear about trans representation in comics!
That just was not the conversation that was wanted or needed.
