GLA.Org (Global Lyme Alliance) @GlobalLymeAlliance and Lyme Awareness Month Instagram Campaign 2019
May is Lyme Awareness Month. Ashley Nicolei of @LiveLoveManja and @ashnicolei is contributing to GLA’s May 2019 Instagram and Community Awareness Campaign. She is representing the Bay Area and Silicon Valley Region, promoting Lyme Awareness during the month of May.
It used to be thought that Lyme is only in Connecticut and East Coast States, also that Lyme could only be transmitted by ticks (which is no longer correct information). Self-education, awareness, and community is everything in this battle, road to remission, and healing journey (for Lyme and Chronic Lyme).
Awareness begins with community, so Ashley will be posting these in various Bay Area/Silicon Valley locations to create more education and awareness in the area. Knowing what to look for (ticks and strange bites), the signs of a reaction, and how to properly remove a tick, as well as preventative measures (long clothing, bug repellent, washing clothes and materials immediately after being outside in ways that properly destroy the ticks etc.) are key in proper prevention, proper diagnosis, and proper treatment (should you be exposed).
