A suggestion for Pokemon fan game makers:

Don't use the name "Pokemon".

That's the one piece of advice I have to start. They can't shut you down if they aren't using their trademark.

So what do we use instead? Well... How about "Goblinmon"?

Consider the following:

-Mortal creatures warped by the energies of Arcadia.

-Captured in ball-cages of iron and holly wood.

-Why children? Until you become an adult, the proper fae are under a geas and can't directly harm you.

-... And there is bad blood after the war, not that anyone but Lieutenant Sur- er- Serge will mention it much...

-Monsters based on old folk tales, urban legends, cryptids, et al.

I think there's something here.
