genuinely brutal for daisuke to realise that while he was isolating himself and running with coyotes while watching over olethra on the last thing comfrey ever asked of him, she was moving on and having a fling with his old pirate nemesis
okay so like really long cloho post coming but i think it's important. i think daisuke has tricked all of you. i think zac has.
i see people talk about how age seems to have softened pappy. his confessions of 'i got scared'. his grandfather-fication. and to me it's all just such complete bull. i wanna start chronologically. daisuke bucklesby was one of gath's most famous outlaws. he was a household name before he joined the crew of the zephyr. comfrey macleod and daisuke bucklesby colliding was two stars exploding in the atmosphere. goldbeard, for instance, is a legend. clearly kids are being told the tale of goldbeard's booty like people here know the likes of long john silver and blackbeard. wealwell's want for his gold is such a clear play on that. a pirate of that repute was not only an intimate friend of daisuke's but was also stabbed in the back and killed by him. daisuke bucklesby outdid fucking davy jones. his life has run him ragged, but by 60 he's not done yet. he's joined the zephyr and supposedly sworn off his old ways. there is a camera crew there and he is being careful. he is being funny but he is being careful. "im a reformed man" he tells them. yeah. sure. the reporter mentions his name casually. people know him. he is an outlaw. he's a gunslinger. he's dangerous. he marries comfrey and joins the zephyr. he adapts. that's what he does. he adapts. comfrey and him divorce when he cannot adapt anymore. "she wanted me to be an indoor dog but i had just been outside for too long."
daisuke bucklesby is 80 years old. he is not done yet. when the zephyr crew reunites they all make several remarks on daisuke's changed behaviour. marya compliments him for being brave many times by being open with them. "i got scared." that man has not been scared one fucking time we've seen him on screen. he is 80 years old and he has once again adapted. his aim hasn't even wandered a little. he takes a shot before anyone else can react and says he got scared if he needs to cover his ass. he is 80 years old and knows he can get away with that. people will assume he has softened. he's gotten weaker. they will treat him more gentle. that man has not buckled an inch. he is using his age to get away with his behaviour. there is one fact that backs up this age-shield he has crafted and it is from the very first episode. "get lost, pappy" is what one of the crooks coming for olethra says the first time we meet him. they are described as low level criminals. they had less than 20 hp. daisuke bucklesby, the pappy of pilby, we know is infamous. that goon knew that that was daisuke, recognised him, and still had the balls to say "get lost, pappy." we know pappy's been in pilby all these years and we know he's been killing people who's come for olethra and hutch. pappy is an established face in town. clearly. they know his name and face and still he has managed to cultivate an image of just an old man that everyone has bought. everyone's bought that pappy is harmless and become so with age, but daisuke's not slipped a fucking inch. he's been assassinating people this entire time. he has, once more, adapted.
daisuke bucklesby is 80 years old and he is not done with life. he will never be until life takes him out personally. he knows his limits but he enjoys being 80. it has given him new ways to operate, live, and trick people. that man loves many more people now than when he was some hotshot in his 20s, but the steely gaze and quick fingers of that 20 year old haven't withered at all. they've just evolved. adapted. he has never once been scared.
Cloudward H.O!

I’ve come to make an announcement. Goldbeard the Pirate is a bitch ass Motherfucker, he pissed on our fucking brotherhood. That‘s right he took his clockwork fucking cogwheel dick out and he pissed on our fucking brotherhood, and he said his dick was „T H I S B I G“ and icsaid that‘s disgusting. So i‘m making a callout post on my Zumhara.com: Goldbeard you have a small dick. It‘s the size if this bullet, except WAY smaller. And guess what? here‘s what my Dong looks like [explosion sounds]
That‘s right Baby. All Brass, no wood, no copper — look at that, it looks like 2 balloons and a pipe. He fucked my Ex-Wife, so guess what i‘m gonna fuck the Straka. That‘s right this is what you get: MY SUPER BIANGLE PISS! Except i‘m not gonna piss on Zood, i‘m gonna go higher; I‘M PISSING IN ZERN! how do you like that, Ludmila!? I PISSED ON ZERN YOU IDIOT!

The fact that Daisuke killed Goldbeard, Spent his Gold, and then Married Goldbeard’s girlfriend
Boss moves. Money Moves.
i made an absolutely devastating discovery: so far no one had made a full goldbeard's gold compilation
*Adds Goldbeard to the list of people I ship Pappy with*
