What's your process like with your illustrations? They're always so clean but so colourful and lively!
oh thank you ! 💖💖💖 tbh I’ve had no idea if it’s because of this in particular, but for any big illustration, I usually go like this :
first I make a big messy sketch, just to pin down the general composition
and then i choose the color palette ! it’s the step that usually takes me the most time since that’s where I decide what i want to highlight, the contrasts, the shapes etc really important step in my process, now that i’m thinking about it lmao
Once i’m sold on a color palette, i clean the sketch ( just the characters tho, i don’t like to clean background bc it would be !! really !! too !!! long !! ) and then it’s time to block the colors and detail everything :’)
I’m not sure I’m clear ahah, but if you guys are interested, next time I work on a big illustration I can make a more detailed process stuff ?
