Seville - 9th October
This morning I dragged myself out of bed at 8am to start a 19km run. Its in the schedule of training that Richard has set out for me, so I guess I had to do it. I no more felt like it than going to the dentist! So I started off, and decided I would run 10km. Running is funny, as the more you do, the more your body excepts it, and you mind starts wandering and if you can stop thinking about the running, you can start thinking about other things and drift off. Almost become robotic to the running. After 5km, I decided to try for 14km. I was 2km away from a turn around point that I used yesterday. So I guess 14km would be a good run. I turned around and started heading back, coming to 12km my head started playing with me. “Richard said to do 19km, you don’t want to be at the marathon thinking I didn’t do everything I could in training”. The closer I got 14km the more I wanted to go the other side of the river and make up the 5km. Sure its only 2.5km out and then you are on the home stretch. Its all a mind game! I ran the 2.5km and turned around and ran the last 2.5km faster than any run on holiday yet. I was delighted!
Back in the apartment we had lovely breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the river. After this we tidied up and headed into town. We decided to just walk, see where our feet took us. Brilliant idea. We were in the University of Seville, and onwards to a beautiful walled garden with a memorial to Christopher Columbus and then into narrow narrow streets full of tourists in the old city. I was a bit worried here, as there was literally no place to move. It was very enclosed! But today we saw Orange trees for the first time. I had assumed up to now they were lemon and lime trees, but no they are Orange! We stopped for coffee in a lovely coffee shop (See below) and then headed again for a walk through the shopping district. We ended up at the canopy of waffles (Metropol Parasol). It was completed in 2011. I really like it, again photos below. Following this we walked around for another while and stopped for lunch in a lovely place off the beaten track. The nicest Tapas I have every eaten followed! Maybe I was ordering wrong all along. After this we walked another bit, we wanted to get into the Catherdal, but the queue stretched quiet a bit and we decided to come back later.
We walked another bit and ended up at the bull ring. I am TOTALLY against bull fighting, but I wanted to understand it, so we took a tour. The ring is an amazing structure, and the history is pretty unique. But I am still not converted, and decided not to take any photos of the costumes, musuem etc as a form of protest! I also declined to buy fridge magnets! After all the walking we were tired and headed back to the apartment for a rest. Back out again later. But for now, I uploaded some photos! Amaing day so far!
Part 2.... #footwork #agility and #coordination all in one. I am doing the crisscross while moving my body and traveling inside the rope. I'm dancing. It takes a lot of coordination to pull this off. This is why your foundation must be solid. Before the "tricks" you must make sure that your footwork and rope control is second nature. Not doing so may cause you to overthink. As you advance, you will realize how much these basic skills are. If you're able to pull it's off, post a video and mention me in the caption for a repost. #happyjumping #jumprope #jumpropeswag #jumpropeskills #jumpropemadefun #crisscross #footwork #instafit #fitfam #fitapo
Jumping into the ocean!
The new trend on facebook is to jump in the ocean and nominate some friends to do the same. If they don't jump into the ocean within 24 hours they owe, the person who nominated them, a trip to the cinema.
This trend is very big at the Faroe Islands where almost everybody jumps into the ocean - even my father and stepmother did it! And the ocean at the Faroe Islands is much cooler than here in Denmark.
A good friend of mine nominated me so I had to do it as well! It wasn't as cold as I thought it would be and it was very refreshing! :)
This picture was taken right after our jump! :)
Have a nice day!
