             Aerith bites her lip. He’s right but is she willing to admit to him just how right he is?  ❝ I suppose… ❞  Maybe not today.  ❝ If you’re the only one like that, if you have no one who can relate to your feelings… Then how can you not feel alone? No matter how hard others try to be kind and say they understand… They could never, they don’t share your experiences. So you thank them for their kind thoughts and carry on feeling alone. ❞  And she loves her friends dearly but she’s not gonna pretend any of them understands what it feels like to hear the voices of dead people in your head, to try and relay someone’s final message only to have the other person stare at you with something they think is kinder than horror but is still hurtful. She has learned long ago not to talk about it, to pretend she’s just like everyone else. Normal is better, it’s less trouble.

          ❝ But maybe feeling alone is better than feeling rejected. ❞  And selfish but… Is it that bad to want friends who won’t look at you like you’re a thing instead of a person when they think you’re not looking?

@hebranded​   :    for once he says nothing as he approaches his friend, and instead, he just carefully encloses his arms around him. they both need this, but maybe in this moment, noctis needs it just a tiny bit more.

Emotions were... hard.

He wishes there was some more eloquent way of putting that, that there was some fantastical poetic way to string together words to show how he felt as of late / this blinding wish to show the people around him there was a tumultuous sea bubbling within him    &&   he couldn’t seem to escape it’s pulling waves, tugged beneath the water too often with an ever growing fear one day he would not resurface.

Perhaps that’s why  when he is pulled close he is reduced to silence, expression ( hidden in the other’s shoulder ) that of wide eyes   &&   open mouths, with a touch of tears welling up - but it happens so fast it takes him by surprise too, like he hadn’t been expecting any reaction at all to come from him.

Rather than try  to speak, or return the embrace, he allows Prompto to hug him, encircled within his arms, allowing his friend to both offer and take comfort even if just for a little while. It was better than nothing out here; it was, he thought, all they could get. But all too quickly he draws the moment to a close, putting a respectable distance between them.

He turns his head away. Whatever he’s feeling will never be seen. He sorta feels like it’s better that way.  “We should get going, dude.”

@hebranded​   :    ❝ noct! noct! hey man, i don't know about you, but i am starving! i could probably eat a whole ━ you know what... never mind, i'm good. great even! so, what's on the grand ol' agenda today? hm?? ❞ he then smiles brightly as he leans ever closer to the other.

Noctis  appears   as  though  he’s  barely  wiped  the  sleep  from  his  eyes  ,  hair  still  wet   &&  the  smell  of  motel  soap  clinging  to  his  body  like  a  cloud  around  him  ;  Prompto  speaks  .   He  seems  to  jerk  away  haphazardly  as  he  stood  there  ,  the  proverbial  cogwheels  in  his  brain  grinding  against  eachother  with  an  almost  audible  noise  as  he  tries  to   process  words  spoken  to  him  /  come  up  with  a  response  that  was  more  substantial  than  a  few  grunts  ,  maybe  a  grumble  if  he  was  lucky . 

“Agenda? Uhhh... Dunno... breakfast, got a━” Pauses  to  yawn  /  rub  the  bridge  of  his  nose  . “Got a call from Cid, says he’s got something for us... Wanna swing by the crows nest while Iggy packs up everything? Really... really need a soda...”

PROMPTO  ☆ ★

EACH STEP YOU TAKE REVEALS A NEW HORIZON.. T’was the events that led to these moments, that would have her take leaps, take chances and flourish into the last remaining cetra. Though she was capable of extraordinary abilities, there was much still to discover. Something was withdrawing her from such. Her fear of the outside world. Aerith had lived in the sector 5 slums most her life, aside from being with her biological mother at ShinRa. She had dreamed, imagined, daydreamed, about the life beyond those sectors she knew and felt comfortable in. Life outside of Midgar. Mayhaps one day she would find the courage to take these steps.          For tonight, a new cuisine in a different sector. Was she courages or idiotic for having no company on her journey? This was to be determined.  For if she, alone, could take the small steps of doing something outside a daily routine, it may be the nudge she needed to fly the nest and discover more. She was certain, with her touch to nature, that she would be able to do more, if only she would step outside.          && She approaches the chocobo service whom she could rely on to take her and home safely. This was the compromise she made with her adoptive mother, Elmyra. They not too strong financially, but this would allow her mother to sleep easy.         “ One to Wall Market please!” She chimes to the blond male talking to the chocobo ahead, interrupting him. 

              “Wow, you have a way with them, don’t you!?” Laughter seeps through the tonality of her voice.                     “He seems to like you!” She adds, now reaching for the chocobo herself, approaching with her own gentle touch, to gain it’s trust. A small ruffle of feathers before returning attention to the one in his care.

He  cannot  place  the  emotion  Prompto’s  words  conjure  within  him .

True to his nature , he thinks it starts as anger ; it starts warm   &&   violent in his stomach , churning  ,  a  tumultuous  wave  that  soon  gives  way  to  a  chill  /  frozen  like  water  ,  his  hands  shake  ,  his  body  cold .  HE  RECALLS  GLADIO’S  WORDS  ;  I’ve   made   peace  with   it   , as  the  King’s  shield  . 

He  guesses  reality  has  a  funny  way  of  sinking  in  when  you  least  expect  it .

“Worry about yourself, Prompto.” He  says  words  absently  ,  with  seemingly  little  thought  /  there’s  a  whirlwind  behind  those  words  ,  Noct  can’t  look  him  in  the  eye  .   “You die, Iggy’ll find a way to bring you back and kill you all over again.”

@hebranded​   :    says nothing, but instead, he lets out a heavy sigh as he flops onto him dramatically.

The   BUMP   against  his  shoulder  jerks  his  vision  up  from  his  phone  ,    &&   the  sigh  that  follows  earns  an  under  the  breath  chuckle  from  the  prince  ;  he  shoves  back against  his  friend   lightly ,   sticking   his   tongue   out   teasingly   .   “S’matter? Gladio kick your ass or somethin’?”
