SHUT THE FUCK UP I AM SO EXCITED. I CAN ALREADY TELL THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SEASONS. I WON'T EVEN BRING UP WHERE SEB AND BIG RED ARE BECAUSE I'M JUST SO HAPPY IT'S FINALLY BACK.

I’m too old to be watching some of this stuff lol but I will somehow forever be drawn to anything with a hint of musical theatre. That being said...

UGH. HSMTMTS. What are you doing to my girl? 

How did Gina’s character come in hot, gunning for the lead, get seen as such a threat, get passed up for it, and then this year her whole journey so far is about stepping back and not competing for a role/the lead? 

Like, why though? What has she gotten that it’s time for her to give someone else a turn? Caaaaause...she hasn’t. Literally hasn’t really had more than anyone else. And didn’t even get to perform the entire show last time at that. But they treat it like it’s a bad or selfish thing that she was gonna audition on her own like literally everyone else did except Ashyn and Kourtney? Make it make sense.  

Then they put her front and center for the entire number where she’s singing about taking a step away from front and center to let others shine. Cause she’s fierce so of course she’s still in a prominent spot and stealing the show but we’re supposed to believe others are better or more deserving? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

I feel like it’s umpteen years ago and I’m watching poor Mercedes get overlooked even as she shines brighter than those around her who are being given their flowers. 

I’m just not here for it. I don’t get why it’s happening. Maybe last year it made sense for her to learn to be humble or a team player, but now it feels more like she’s earned a chance to do more and instead they’re making her learn some lesson? That no one else needs to learn? No bueno. 

I just want her to find happiness this season. Clearly it won’t be with Ricky which is whatever, I expected as much but at least give the girl something. She’s really gonna be the only one with an itty bitty role and the only single one in that whole group of friends? Yeesh. 

I don’t have the patience for this kinda stuff anymore. I’m too old for this $h!t.
