🚨BREAKING: Six IDF soldiers, including three in serious condition, were wounded during a counter-terrorism operation in Syria after terrorists opened fire on the troops.
IDF Spokesperson:
During the night (Friday), following intelligence information gathered in recent weeks, reserve forces from the “Spearhead” Brigade (55), under the command of Division 210, carried out an operation to arrest suspects belonging to the Islamic Jihad organization.
The suspects operated in the village of Beit Jann in southern Syria and were promoting terrorist plots against Israeli civilians.
During the operation, terrorists opened fire at IDF forces, who returned fire. At the same time, air support was provided to the troops.
As a result, two combat officers and a reservist soldier were severely wounded, another reservist soldier was moderately injured, and an officer and a reservist soldier sustained light injuries.
The wounded soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital, and their families were notified.
The operation was completed — all suspects were arrested, and several terrorists were eliminated.
IDF forces are deployed in the area and will continue to act against any threat to the State of Israel and its citizens.
