Ilyea sighed into her hands as the runes flickered by the lamp nearby one of the tables. A tomb being presented upon one of the many workstations within the vaults. The mage waved her hand igniting the runes, the lamp casting a soft green glow over the workstation. Irritation was brief upon her features as she waved the runes once more, the light changing from green to white.
Something about green and recording this story seemed to fill the scholar with bad memories especially when talking about this thing. The mage took out a small enchanted quill and touched the top after recovering it within moon glow ink. As she began to speak the pen danced across the tomb recording her words as fast as she could speak them.
~Prelude and Possessions~
This Saga begins just as any normal artifact might return within the Scions. One of our exploration ruins within the broken isles left within one of the alcoves of Azsuna opted for this as any battleground. It was an artifact given to us by the Illidari and the Wardens when they argued in front of Erudition. There was a duel to be won and the group favoring the Illidari were to destroy the artifact while the group favoring the Wardens were to study it. It wasn’t anything spectacular as far as I had known when we received it, just a plain filigree bowl of Sin'dorei designs. Or as I put it “Creepy bowl thing.”
The Illidari had mentioned that they had destroyed a creature when they were fighting one of the various Legion invasions, and this was left behind. Since it was upon the border of the two factions; they needed a neutral organization to determine what to do. It was decided by the Scions considering our small foothold within the land. The duels were fierce and harsh, but the Illidari group had finished quite easily after a small hiccup winning the rite to destroy the artifact. Glaives and other weapons were present upon the root but it could not be severed. Each slice was regenerated as quickly as it had come across. The Illidari mentioned to let us know of the research we had come across with the intention for our records, and thus it was within our possession. The indestructible creepy bowl thing.
I didn’t have much time to look into the artifact so it was put within the general depot and promptly forgotten about. The Scions do get a lot of artifacts and while I am in the vault most of the times, there are things that seem hidden. Myra, our general guardian keeps bringing up newer and newer artifacts and even though I get help with Sorenar with some of the time; it’s still not enough to account for everything.
Nothing could of prepared me though for what came next however.
I do not say I can remember much of what happened during these next few events. Those that are close to me have stated that I was possessed briefly for this time by someone named Coldlight whom we did not realize at the time came from the creepy bowl thing. The spirit was attempting to get another artifact within the vault that seemed to have deep seated necromantic powers that had subtle ties to the Black Empire. One that had appeared within our vaults that was unseen to most living eyes.
My possession was merely a ruse to get the spirits out the first time, and for the artifacts that he had corrupted to exit with one of the many vault guardians that existed. It wasn’t noticed until the end of one of his games that things were slowly changing. His corruption, our vaults where all coming to a head. Typically spirits that wish harm are usually muted due to the nature of the artifacts that the Scions possess, but Coldlight was clever in affecting one of the many guardians that lined the vaults. It flew unmarred by the wards in and out ferrying three other artifacts that Coldlight had infected.
I do admit I was not as worried about it at the time for typically when an artifact goes within the deep vaults that the Scions carry, we usually do not see it unless we wish to. This one unfortunately had other plans.
The artifacts he corrupted, the vaults he continued to corrupt. This Cold light whom lived within this creepy bowl seemed obsessed with this *key*, that the Scions had no record of existing.
UGH.UGH UGH. Zaguaro the troll, as shown above gave Vell a lovely new dress made of mooncloth. Unknown to him, the fabric eases the ache in her fel infused skin. Potentially a cure~? Not that Vell knows that yet.
Zaguaro belongs to @kygoatman and Vell is my lovely Illdari.
Vellenara and her two boys. Happy Love is in the Air to my new favorite rp buddies!!! Tok and Zaguaro taking care of their tiny Illdari. Someone has to teach her how to care for her hair and dress appropriately for life under the hot Uldum sun.
