     “Ah! Jonouchi-kun!” He’d been knee-deep in studies for a while so seeing the other teen was definitely a welcome treat as the boy just grinned, his eyes soft and gentle. “Have a seat, man. Today’s burgers are on me, ya know?” the more quiet teen seemed to only really light up when his friends were involved, as typically he was quiet, timid and stayed to himself playing with his various decks.

   KAIBA, witnessing his partner’s dosing, has continued working diligently. he doesn’t move - soft typing the only sound that reverberates through the office. but he finds it hard to focus, jounouchi’s tired figure remains in the corner of his eye. yes, perhaps the other wasn’t the best choice to help him with paperwork of all things, but...-

   “ there’s no need, ” he responds, as he reaches over to take the clipboard from him. “ i have enough framework here to send it over in the morning. they can finish the rest. if my employees are any kind of USEFUL at all, they’ll figure it out themselves. ” resting the clipboard on the table, he leans back in his office chair, his tense shoulders relaxing while leaning his head back to get the kinks out of his neck. 

   expression brims with curiosity (a hint of content?) as he watches him. most, he’s aware, wouldn’t be comfortable enough in his presence to even dream about dosing off during important work. ah, but jounouchi is different, isn’t he? maddening, yet perplexing, which brings more questions. questions that he’s most certainly unwilling to ask.

   “ sleep. we’re fine here. ”
