FBI Offers $200,000 for Information on Former Air Force Specialist Charged With Spying for Iran
The FBI has announced a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of Monica Witt, a former U.S. Air Force intelligence specialist accused of spying for Iran. The renewed effort has brought fresh attention to one of the most controversial espionage cases involving a former American military intelligence officer in recent years.
According to federal authorities, Witt allegedly defected to Iran in 2013 and later provided classified U.S. national defense information to the Iranian government. She was formally indicted in 2019 on multiple espionage-related charges and remains at large.
