Normally, she wouldn’t have spent as much time choosing what to wear for a date as she did tonight. Not because Jay was the love of her life or something of sorts, but this was the first time in a while where Vanessa had felt excited enough to want to look good for someone that wasn’t herself. So she picked black dress that hugged her curved perfectly and had enough cleavage to keep Jacob on his toes while also leaving much to his imagination. After she’d adjusted her pumps on her feet, she texted Jay to let him know she was on her way to the restaurant he had picked for them and grabbed her clutch, as well as her car’s car keys, then left her apartment.
As expected, Jacob was a great company. Funny, thoughtful and a true gentleman, which often made Vanessa smile and laugh and realize that she was actually having fun. Luckily, she wasn’t the type of person who would look for someone’s flaws beforehand in order to counterbalance their qualities, so even if he couldn’t hear what was happening in her head, Nessa was glad for being able to have fun with someone as nice as Jay.
Once they’d paid for their meals, Vanessa suggested they’d take a walk by the beach. It was such a nice night out, plus she also wanted to see other sides of Jacob. Besides, they were too close to the beach not to take advantage of that. “So...” She started as she climbed down from her heels, increasing even more their height difference and continued. “I’ve had fun tonight.” Vee told him with a smile as she held onto her shoes and allowed her feet to touch the sand. “It was nice being able to have a conversation without worrying about being late for work.” She referred to their first time together where they’d gone to her favorite juice shop for a quick, post-gym chat. “I can’t remember the last time someone made me laugh like that, so... thank you for that.” She bowed her head in a nod, but was quick to lift it up so she could look at him. “It was definitely work the wait.”
