J.P. only had one person he wanted to see after the night he had,Thea. Another failed experiment with some nasty side effects. He had driven to Thea's estate and was granted permission to see her which he was thankful for despite the stares he got on the way to her wing. Waiting at her door he knew she would question him the minute it all registered.
